Apple’s Mission Statement: A Closer Look

Apple’s Mission Statement: A Closer Look

Apple is a widely known brand that is incredibly popular for its phones, laptops, and tablet devices. But how much do people actually know about the brand that they spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars with? To gain an understanding of such a large company, the mission statement is a great place to start. By reading it, a great deal can be revealed about the things that Apple wants to do and is committed to achieving in the course of its service to people. Let’s take a closer look at Apple’s mission statement and how they live it out.

Statement Breakdown

Apple says in their mission statement that they are dedicated, “to bringing the best user experience to its customers through its innovative hardware, software, and services.” By saying that they are dedicated to bringing the best user experience, Apple is assuring its customers that the company exists to do more than just make money and advanced gadgets. Instead, Apple wants to draw people in and serve them through quality customer service as well as enjoyable products.

This mindset of wanting to create a great user experience for customers is a great position to take if your company is looking to build trust with customers. If you are not dedicated to the people you are serving, then customers can always take their business elsewhere where they know that they will be valued, and where they know that they can agree with the values that the company stands for. In this way, Apple is a great example of prioritizing customers, even down to the order of the phrasing of their mission statement.

Living it Out

Aside from simply valuing their customers, Apple’s mission statement also includes the phrase, “through innovative hardware, software, and services,” and their company’s actions show that they are, in fact, committed to doing just that. On the Apple website you can find endless information about their innovative work such as water-resistant phones, using recycled materials, and devices that use less power. Their innovative work supports their mission statement perfectly as they produce high quality, innovative products with the goal of reducing their impact on the environment.

In addition to creating excellent products and having great customer service, Apple has also been involved in giving back to communities. As a technology company, they have made it easier for their customers to be a part of helping relief groups like the Red Cross, which has led their customers to donate more than $2 million. This shows how Apple has combined the two aspects of their mission statement. They have found a way to combine their commitment to people and excellence in technology to make a difference in the world.

Conclusion

As a multinational corporation, Apple is a leading example of a company driven by a mission statement that values quality products, and more importantly, people. Through their innovative work in technology, as well as their gifts back to the community, Apple should be a company that small businesses look to not only for successful business practices, but also for excellent customer experiences that keep customers coming back for more.
