An Insightful Book for First-time Entrepreneurs in San Diego and Across the U.S.

An Insightful Book for First-time Entrepreneurs in San Diego and Across the U.S.

As we recently announced, Maven has released a new book! Authored by Matthew Smith and Jessica Dawson, Startup is written with the first-time entrepreneur in mind. It’s not a “how-to” guide, as both Matt and Jessica recognize that there is no one “right” way to start a business. Rather, it is broken down into the four general stages all entrepreneurs face as they take their business from idea to launch.

Throughout the book, Matt and Jessica share the experiences they had as they were getting their businesses off the ground. Everyone’s heard the saying, “Hindsight is 20/20,” and Matt and Jessica wanted to share some of their hindsight to both encourage aspiring entrepreneurs, and also to shed light on some of the difficulties that come with starting a business.

Startup is full of examples from not only Matt and Jessica’s experiences, but also from various San Diego small business owners they’ve each worked with. For those of you who have never been your own boss before, it can feel like such unknown territory. By reading Startup, hopefully you’ll realize that your challenges are common, and many entrepreneurs before you have tackled the same obstacles.

This is Maven’s third release and second collaboration with Modmacro CEO Matt Smith. Matt is passionate about helping small business owners in San Diego and all over the country, and he loves being able to share his knowledge and experience through his books.

We all have subjects we’re passionate about, and as entrepreneurs, we usually find ways to work those passions into our businesses. Would your customers and colleagues benefit from learning more about what you love and why you love it? If so, a book could be the answer. Contact Maven today to see how we can help you create something that can become a powerful marketing tool, and a way to foster deeper connections with your current customers.

Startup: From Idea to Launch: Navigating the Four Stages of a Startup Business is available on Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble.com
