COVID-19: Your Post Pandemic Wellness

It has been a tough few months for many of us, and with the added stress and complications to our day to day lives it seems that we’re far from an easing of any of this stress. Getting back to normal seems a long way away yet – but there are plenty of ways to ensure some strong positive mental health and focus on your own wellness during this period of time.

Getting Back to Exercising

Exercise has been proven to make you feel better by releasing endorphins and relieving stress, and although gyms are set to reopen soon, they may not be the best place to go and destress. Fortunately, summer is here and that means it’s a perfect time to get back outside. By going outside, you can get away from everyone else with a nice long walk or a jog, and kill two birds with one stone – get a little exercise and a little time to yourself.

A Little Gaming

Similar to exercise, gaming has also been proven to release endorphins and make you feel good along with a number of other benefits such as hand eye coordination and extra creativity. Despite regulation change to platforms such as Gamstop, a self-inclusion scheme aimed at helping problem players, Casinos Not on Gamstop are a useful resource for finding sites that aren’t part of this scheme so you can get your gaming again.

A Nice New Book

A good read is always a great way to destress and with book sales finding such a large increase over the past few months, there’s no better time to discover your next page turner to dive into. If you’re not so much into the traditional form of reading, there have been a growing number of audiobooks that have been released lately with some of your favourite stars doing the reading to provide you with a very unique experience.

Get a Little Crafty

Many people have turned to crafts and DIY projects to make a little extra money on the side while waiting to get back to work and have credited them with greatly helping their wellness and mental health. If you have a little creative streak in you, it may be time to try doing it just as a fun therapeutic exercise or to earn some pocket change. You may even find a new passion in doing it.

There will be a lot of focus put on mental and physical wellbeing over the next few months as we try to recover from the pandemic. Doing whatever you can early will put you in a great position to be ready to find out what the new normal is, and to step into this new normal with a positive attitude. By doing these things, you will also be prepared to make all the changes that may be required – whether these are small adjustments such as wearing a mask, or a full shake up as people begin working remotely.
