Tips for Crafting Consulting Company Vision Statements

Tips for Crafting Consulting Company Vision Statements

Operating a consulting firm comes with a lot of responsibilities, since businesses are depending on your guidance to help them succeed in their field. Because your consultation has so much influence, your consulting company’s vision and approach to business is very important.

When people look at your consulting firm, they are looking for a firm that holds similar values to them. If you are open about the goals and mission of your company, then you are more likely to gain their trust and form partnerships with more companies. The vision statement of your consulting company should outline the “what” and “why” of your business. This means that it should include specific goals you would like to achieve and the reason why your business exists. That being said, let’s take a look at a few successful consulting firm vision statements and how you can make your own.

Austin Consulting

Austin Consulting is an architectural consulting firm whose vision statement serves as a great example for a thorough explanation of their company’s vision and purpose. Their vision statement is written in a paragraph, but a few key phrases stand out. The key part of the paragraph says,

Our contribution to the built environment reaches far beyond the bricks and mortar; our work allows our clients to innovatively provide products and services to people around the world safer, faster, cleaner, and more economically than ever before.”

This part of the vision statement gives the reason for their existence by acknowledging their field as a consulting company for architectural businesses and also states their goal when consulting. When creating your vision statement, you should be looking to draw people into wanting to do business with you because they can connect with your vision.

Pivot Point Consulting

The vision statement of Pivot Point Consulting is much simpler. They highlight three things: “Relationships. Reliability. Results,” which form the goals of the company. Their website also includes a short explanation of these three points, which is a smart addition if you have a short vision statement. You should always be informing potential customers so that they have a better understanding of how you will achieve what you are committed to.

Crafting Your Own Statement

As shown by the two prior examples, a vision statement can be short and sweet, or take an entire paragraph. It all depends on what you think is best for your company. Of course, there are key elements that you should include like the goals your company wants to achieve and the purpose for the company, but outside of that, there are no limitations to what you can say to inspire others to work with you. Always remember that your vision statement is going to communicate your company’s values and reliability to your customers, so you want to make sure that you present your company well and succinctly.
