Things You Need to Know About a Dashboard Background and Its Customizability

Business intelligence software can help to assist organizational efforts in managing data as it can provide insights and consolidated reports to help managers understand the data better.

Without such software, one would have to manually make reports which can lower productivity and make reports hard to read. Reports generated by business intelligence software are easy to read, and can be made automatically with little effort.

Business solutions like Domo software lead the industry with revolutionary features and affordable pricing. Such platforms have a dashboard view that lets users glance at different reports and analytics all at once.

In addition, the users can change the dashboard background and layout according to their preferences.

The ability to change the dashboard background and layout is arguably one of the most underrated features of business intelligence software. There are different softwares on the market, but not all offer a great degree of customizability.

Why is a dashboard background feature necessary?

The ability to change the background and layout of the dashboard is important because it helps users improve their effectiveness by organizing things according to their most efficient preferences.

It enables users to customize the layout of the reports on the dashboard per their choice. They can move the reports they use the most to the top corner of the dashboard or place them in another order of their liking.

What are the critical elements of dashboard design?

Simplicity

A cluttered design is not the best choice for a business software dashboard. Although metrics and analytics might be complicated, the creation of the background and dashboard does not have to be.

The aim is to strike a perfect balance between simplicity and effectiveness: efficiency. The dashboard must deliver all the information to the user in a simple way.

It does not have to be boring; the design must add to the users’ usability, and they must gain something from the design. In a way, the design must enhance the functionality of the dashboard.

Easy to Understand

The dashboard must be easy to understand by the users, no matter the background. Most people around the world read and write from left to right, and this habit remains the same when they are looking at something as well.

No matter what the user reads or watches, the habit of looking at something from left to right remains the same. So align important headings to the left side of your dashboard.

Design and logo placements

The company’s logo placement in the dashboard background is a necessary element of the dashboard for uniformity in the software used by the organization.

While it is common for companies to set up the logo in the top left corner, it must be dynamic and set according to the dashboard layout.

The logo must not hinder any of the functions of the dashboard.

If you are using any of the business intelligence software, then you have the option to add your background by downloading royalty-free images to it. You can customize the layout and add your images to make the dashboard more personalized.
